As part of my work at Balkan…Projects, I initiated and developed our online mentorship program, launched in 2024, thereby extending the organisation’s long-standing commitment to art education through residencies and expanded learning formats. Building on our 2019 residency programme with the Swiss Institute, New York, I expanded this initiative into a year-long, peer-to-peer structure conceived as an exchange rather than instruction, a space where ideas circulated across geographies and generations.

I shaped the programme’s framework and workflow, identified and invited mentors, and oversaw its trajectory from the selection of mentees through to completion, including the final exhibition presentation. Throughout the year, I supported a dynamic learning environment in which mentees advanced projects in formation—broadening their research and testing new approaches—while mentors used the dialogue to reflect on their own practices and methods of conveying knowledge and experience.

The initial open call and the 2024–25 cycle were dedicated to mentees from non-EU Balkan countries. After a successful first year, in 2026 we opened the mentorship program to applicants from all Balkan countries.
